This is the challenge day I’ve been waiting for, Establishing your Core Values. This one can be so difficult for people because sometimes the don’t even know what their values are. Today we are going to talk about that and show you ways to figure out those values. It’s Saturday by they way! YAY for the weekend!
Consider your values are your motto for daily living. It’s what carries through hard times and what you fall back on when being challenge by another person. In a way you are establishing your personal brand. Values are important for self love, because it reminds us of what is most important. If you want to live a full authentic lifestyle, then your values are the foundation you stand on.
If you haven’t already figured out, mine are Love, Live, Laugh, Learn. They are pretty simple words to live by. I love hard, laugh out loud, live for each day, and am open to learn new experiences. Breaking it down my values say that I am a person who tries to enjoy every aspect of life, it can be a struggle, but I’m going to try.
So how do you know what your life values you are? We’ll let’s start off with these two questions:
- What is important to you?
- What things can you not live without?
Next look at what you have written down and analyze. What do these things mean to you? Can they be broken down into one or three main categories? Of course they can! If you look at the example above, it is obvious that this person finds mother nature and his/her connection to the earth to be highly important. They also cherish ¬†love, relationships with others and their ability to move about freely on earth. When doing this activity yourself focus on the recurring themes. For this person things in nature kept coming up, meaning it’s highly important.
Here are some finally tips. As humans we are constantly growing and changing which means our morals and values will constant change. Don’t worry what others think about what you value in life. If you’re a free spirit and you just want to move with the breeze, then go on whicha bad self, and do your thing. It’s okay to value whatever it is that makes you happy. I live my values so hard that I had it tattooed on my body!
Until next time dwellers!
