There have been many times where I thought I would survive the real world without friends. Yes, I was that girl, a self-proclaimed loaner destined to do bad all by myself. Really though, I didn’t know how to keep people around or realize the purpose of friends in my life. If you want to Show The Real World Who’s Boss, you have to learn how to acquire and keep friends.
Many people learn how to develop friendships from a young age. For some, however, developing long lasting friendships prove to be very difficult. Without a doubt, you will grow apart from some of your friends, but you have at least one that you are forever tight with. Friendships are difficult and like most things, in life, they require hard work and dedication. Having good people to lean on will help you through the hard moments for sure.
So where do you find friends? As you get older, it becomes more difficult to make friends as your social circles tend to close and you develop boundaries. It’s okay to differentiate friendships into acquaintances. Both are okay to have however one relationship has a deeper connection and higher expectations. You can find friends in your classes, at work, and in any extracurricular activity that you do.
The real world is a tough place. It’s important to have people who are will stand by you and support you through the tough stuff. There are so many things you can accomplish when you have a confidant. Humans are social people. It is natural for us to want to have others around us.
